A Better Chance in Darien

Returning for her senior year, Angie feels like she is a totally different person from the young girl who came to ABC in Darien three years ago. She remembers crying in the parking lot on the first day and not talking much. Now, she has totally come out of her shell and is a leader among the girls in the house. This summer she had an opportunity to serve as a group leader for the national ABC program helping to mentor scholars starting in the program. She also worked at Montefiore Hospital.

She is considering a career in the medical field, and this gave her a peek into the intensity of working in that environment. One thing she knows is that she wants to work with people. At DHS, Angie is the president of the Support our Soldiers Club and plans to audition for the musical. She also works at Palmers. She is excited to be the first in her family to attend college and is very open to diverse types of schools, figuring she can fit in anywhere.
