A Better Chance (ABC) is a national program that recruits academically promising and motivated students of color from urban areas and places them in high schools that nurture their talent. ABC in Darien currently has seven young female scholars who, during the school year, live in the ABC House on Tokeneke Road with Resident Directors and attend Darien High School.
All of our graduates go on to competitive four-year colleges including MIT, Amherst, Syracuse, George Washington University, UVA, UNC, Franklin & Marshall, and Cornell, among many others.

We are so proud of Saige for this achievement! Students are selected for National Honor Society on the basis of grade point average (3.7 and above), faculty ratings, student essay, and student candidate form. Members reflect outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, and service. NHS students provide service as tutors, guides at school functions, and service to others in the Darien Community.
A Better Chance, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society.
